I'm not familiar with the car you're thinking about but for track fun it sounds like a good option. You can also get trick westfields etc for that sort of dough. you can go very fast with these kind of cars for not much money, although I'm interested to see (as I don't know anyone who's done it but you're mate with the radical seems a good example) what the actual costs of running these kind of cars are for a year of fun, rather than racing.

I had long chat with Jamie yesterday and broached the subject of Radical running costs, to be honest it was less than I thought though there are many variables to consider.

For purely track day use working off an assumption of 40 hours use between engine rebuilds the breakdown was as follows:

- Cost of Radical = varies drastically from

The assumed 40 hours use between builds is scary for a circuit car. Interesting break down though Pez ;thumbs:

The thing the 40 hours isn't specifically track time either, that's inclusive of all running time (warming up etc.)

FFS........................knowing guys that used to run bike engined Caterfield type things, their maintenance and rebuilds were nowhere near as regular. they may, of course, been running them at much lower stress (revs, cornering speeds etc)

I think Radical honour a 40 hour warranty, but I agree that it seems a bit extreme.

I think it's the 1UZ that drops in relatively painlessly though could I have imagined that and be talking through my hoop! You need more weight on the rear of that truck, maybe strapping some spare jerry cans in the back would do it?

Yeah 1UZ out the soarer and LS400. I think when I looked at them it delivers more power than the 2 and 3 as well. The truck is much better when I stick the 4x4 on plus I've got General Grabbers all round now as those Yokos were near slicks.

That's a very interesting break down of costs Pez cheers for that. Steve will also be interested to read that so will share.

I'll admit to being tempted by this, looks a bargain compared to X Bow and if those Lotus boys have worked their magic should also be a top steer. Might wait and see if they bring out a proper one with forced induction but have instructed an NEC goer to get me a brochure...
