I insured my bike last year with ebike, didn't have an issue but didn't have to claim etc. Come my renewal I needed them to drop

On the subject of Insurance Watchdog nonight BBC1 8PM there is a piece about rising insurance costs etc....and lack of loyalty to customers might be worth a watch.....

Watchdog? May be worth contacting them. Insurance ombudsman? OFT? Trading Standards?

Not receiving your proof of NCB isn't a valid excuse as insurers exchange info between each other. They tell you this in recorded messages whilst keeping you hanging on the phone. If they exchange info for exposing fraudulent claims, they could and can easily exchange a simple NCB confirmation.
