Another cracking day :)
Much better weather and far more seat time for me- even if most of it was in other peoples cars!! I was very fortunate to drive Ol' Yella a few times, Chris's mighty Clio Cup and even Tony's EVO 320. What a mix and what a lucky lad! Russ's wagon obviously felt very familiar and I was soon forgetting whose car it was! I jumped straight from that into the Clio and WOW! What a car. Great balance, terrific power to weight ratio and superb brakes. I loved that car :) Next up was the EVO of Tony's and I was shit scared of scratching it, I'll be honest. Massive braking power, huge mechanical grip and great turn in. All three cars were very fast and huge fun. Thanks to the generosity of the owners for allowing me to have a splat  I even got a run in the APT Saxo; what a little cracker that will be  Lovely throttle response, just so crisp. Good brakes but really heavy steering made it hard work. With a lower seat and lighter steering, it will be a massive giggle.

More spectators but far fewer drivers but those that attended seemed to have great fun. Dan was sideways more often than not, Russ was still quick but lacked a sparring partner (take a bow Eddy, Jon and a few others) Steve was getting faster and faster all day long, Chris and his lovely Gordini turbo were surprisingly quick all day (such a nice sight too) Chris Davison and his wonderful Clio Cup was driven hard all day and he even managed to pull (that's how well he was driving :D ) Even John B baptised his twin turbo Soarer and many people commented on how brave he was for daring to slice his way through the cones in a car that clean.

The Subaru demo drivers were there once again trying to beat the times and set their own, but they got trumped by Tony Hewitt in his EVO rally car and another guy in a 'proper' mark 2 Escort. Both very quick and very adept at going sideways.

We were joined later by a full on WRC Mini Clubman and I have to say that they were very impressive. Great driving throughout and stunning performance; mind you at 600k, they want to be a bit good.

We, as a club, have been asked by the organiser to come back next year. Now that everyone has a years notice, can you please make a note in your diaries? :D :D

I know we had next to notice this time around, but we have no excuse for next year now do we

I forgot..........
Mr APT was there today, having a bit of fun with his EVO. I remember going in this a couple of years ago in a previous spec. Probably the tail end of the cars time in Time Attack I guess. I remember the car seeming to be endless in its performance; the sequential gearbox stretching the speed from 0-140 in one seamless lunge. Impressive. I thought I knew what to expect when I got in it. I knew nothing :)
Gary took a steady run around the outside and then started to feed it in and I realised things had changed. The car was far quicker- somehow. After another lap, he asked me if he should use more boost!! Crazy fucker :) With the boost upped, he banged the lever forward to drop a gear and stamped on the throttle. Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssuuuuuuusssssssssssss!!!

I couldn't find the words at the time and I can't really find the words now. I can only liken it to a science fiction film, something like Star Trek. After two more laps we came in and I fell out :D Once Gary has got used to that and built confidence in it, I honestly think it's capable of some truly impressive results in whichever discipline he uses it in

Not content with just scaring me, Gary decided that he's take a few more out for a scare ride. Punters queued up to get a go and Gary gave his time and fuel up purely for fun and good PR. Hat's off to you mate. The buzz your car created was huge and I would love to see more tuners of your calibre just having fun rather than getting all serious and commercial.

Look forward to seeing the pics and videos

Cheers to both Dan and Chris for the pax laps. Dan your just a loon but it was bloody good fun going sideways in the Supra. Chris your Clio is just a great all round little car which really does fly. I was well impressed.

Not sure of the exact standings Logan, but I know that they were outside of the top three and Tony was a bit disappointed.

Glad to hear about Riley's day out. He seemed to be loving it and his face when he got out of the Scoob after the passenger runs was a picture.

A great day and a cracking weekend :driving:

such an awesome awesome day, came home on a right buzz with all manner of dust/dirt/tyre ground into my skin :D this by a mile was the best BP event i've known to happen  A few more thanks to go around again to Stu and Nik for being the backbone of the whole organisation. and thank everyone else for turning up and making this a thoroughly enjoyable event! have to thank Chris for letting me ride shotgun in his Gordini 5. My god that brought back some memories of the old mini, so low, loud and raw! And he certainly knows how to pilot that little shuttle :D thanks to the usual suspects for the banter and general piss taking. :smash:

all in all, can't wait for Marham 2012

edit: oh and thanks to Emma for fixing my stung arm lol :o
