dont forget your foot pump and RAC card boys.

Word of warning. Dont be in the first group of cars on the strip.

In my experiance santa pod will stick loads of glue down for the first pack. the track temp will be cold. You need some track temp for fast runs. I have made the mistake of smashing drive train components in the very sticky first pack. I always watch for an hour.
- listen to the cars. See if they bog or spin
- Listen for the glue on the tires and people on the track ( it will squelch )
- look for similar cars and watch what they do. if possible speak to them and ask about the track and what they are doing.

When you run get behind a car with big slicks and go after them ( they will lay down rubber for you )

Look at the track you will be able to see the rubbered in line.

avoid going after front wheel drive cars that spin like crazy. They are only pulling the surface up and messing your chances up.

please please please do not drive your car on the road with low tire pressure. its very dangerous....

In the past 12 months i have destroyed

3 diffs
2 clutches
1 flywheel
2 sets of diff mounts
2 sets of tires
1 set of rear wheels
2 clutch bearings
1 speedo sensor

That's great advice. I'll try and remember what I can for tomorrow. A bit daft on my part but I still tend to look at the quarter mile as a bit of a 'point and squirt thing' rather than taking it too seriously. I suppose that's why I've only done a 12.7 or thereabouts as opposed to a low 12 or high 11 like it should do.
Looking at your repair list, I can see why you're reluctant to run the car when you don't need to. Can I ask~ are those breakages all down to the quarter mile or would you expect to kill things at your level of tune?

Tbh they are all 1/4 mile kills. there is not enough traction on the road to smash stuff like that.

There is an art in setting up the car. The time is made in the 60ft or lost. There are some people with good knowledge on here so if you all stick together im sure you will get faster as the day goes on.
