Agreed Msa regs can be a pain but are there for you're own safety
Although some rules don't make sence for instance you are allowed an open face helmet but the lining needs to be fireproof making loads of people buy new lids in 2008
Surely a fireproof balaclava would have made more sence

Guys, thanks for all the info, my silence has been becasue I want to have a proper look through all the info/links/options and i usually only jump on and off here.
Long and short though I think I'll aim to do something this year and will definately come along and watch an even that a few BP'ers are at to get the flavour. When are the scooby and evo gangs out?

The cheaper alternative is what the MSA cal AutoSolo, its a cross between an autotest and a sprint. There are no safety requirements, you don't need a vompetition licence and you don't need a lid etc. There is no reversing and it is a timed 'dash' through a layout of cones, usually on an airfield.
