Rob, we were in Asda at 8pm on a weeknight...nuff said.

Stu, I did feel a bit disappointed that we didnt talk across an aisle blocking it like a lot of people do !!
Glad I disagree with you and have different opinions. Liking VBH must be an age thing ;) Us young people would prefer someone like Jodie Kidd !!!! :)

I do hope Top Gear comes up with some new ideas though, the challenges were cool at the beginning and end of the series but now its most weeks. What does work for whatever reason is the 3 of them, they gel and the mickey taking etc is key to the success. Fifth Gear does have some real people who know their stuff but just come across as a bit stale and the friendly banter doesnt seem to be there apart from between Plato and Tiff.

Anyway back to thinking about Jodie Kidd..........

Jodie Kidd was brilliant...............................on Top Gear :)

Fifth Gear was good in the early days but it tried too hard to emulate TG without the budget. Clarkson, Needell and VBH would be a fabulous line up for a humorous, more sensible programme IMO. Clarkson banter and one-liners; Needel driving ability; VBH for being VBH :)

Or maybe Noel Edmonds should be re-instated? :puke:

Hey, perhaps Tom Ford models himself on that Noel Edmunds look lol, but he cannot loose the weight.

I never liked Tom on 5th Gear, but had a chat to him at a car show recently in Stamford near where he lives. He is much more likeable in person.

5th Gear seemed more factual about the cars with less humour and some serious safety features, making it a more proper car show like Top Gear used to be. This may be it's downfall. Needell and VBH are both great presenters/drivers, but have egos almost as big as Clarkson unfortunately. Goes with the territory i think.

Top Gear has become less of a car programme over recent years and more of a general entertainment show involving cars. This has extended their fans to lesser car lovers who did not watch it before and has attributed to it's massive succes. I too am tired of all the silly challenges and some of the features are pants. The last show of the last series was crap.

What we would all like to see is the 2 shows blended into one with the best aspects/presenters from both. Doubt if it will happen though.

Fifth Gear did it for me when they had three big blokes, with sledge hammers, smash up a Citroen Xantia. What was factual about that? I never bothered to even glance at it after that.

Maybe if 5th gear had stuck to being a 30min factual car show it would have survived. Maybe. Instead it tried to be top gear without the personalities, I reckon. I only ever watched half of it thanks to Sky+ (same with the gadget show really, which is 50% padding, adverts and crappy competitions).

Well with the channel "Dave" fifth gear repeats will live on forever.

Having met and dealt with all of them through work, Tiff, Plato, Vicks, i wont be missing the show or them on TV.

Although she is nice to look at, who wouldnt want to watch a talented attractive female driving the nuts off cars..
