This is a copy / paste of a Camping info thread I did on Northloop, I intend to add to it this summer, but I reckon it will tell you most of that you need to know :-D
I`ve decided to make a thread that captures everything relating to camping at the ring. If I miss anything, or you spot something that needs changing / adding, let me know and i will update this first thread post to save reading through loads of posts to find the main information :thumb: I`ve had to put some photos in this thread from other posts, but i`ll get some better ones that will help when we go over in the summer :thumb:
Camping near the ring is a way to help reduce the costs of your trips to the ring. I usually travel with my family and stay for several days, a guesthouse just wouldnt be affordable for the number of trips we make. The campsite is very well run, clean, has good facilities and is 10-15 mins away from the ring entrance.

To find the campsite, either use the map below, the google earth link below or follow these simple directions.
From the ring carpark, turn LEFT, drive through the village until you reach the main dual carriageway, turn RIGHT, the Formula 1 grandstand is on your RIGHT, after a few hundred yards, you`ll see the F1 carparking entrance on your right, there is a left turn opposite and you`ll see a signpost for the campsite (

). Take that left turn, in a few yards, you`ll see the campsite signposted to the right, turn right, follow that road and after 1 mile or so you`ll see the campsite main entrance on your RIGHT.
Better photo to follow....
This google earth link can be used to plan routes too :thumb:

Checking in is pretty simple, there is no advance booking, its first come first served. The people on the reception dont all speak English, but they are pretty helpful and we`ve always managed to get by.
You often need to leave your passport when you check in, this is normal.
You pay PER PART OF A DAY, so even if you are staying for 2 nights, you`ll pay for 3 days.
