It really doesnt bother me

I just think it is a little daft and will go the way of Dublin where all the pubs have had to spend a lot of money to attract smokers back in by creating 'outdoor rooms' with temporary walls/fence panels, patio heaters and canopies. The pubs there are empty as everyone sits out in these rooms (even the non smokers)

Pubs here will see the drop off in trade after the initial period (if they are not doing food) and will be dead in the winter months. Not the time to be a landlord me thinks.

i think winter will be interesting.

if it was up to the landlord, surely they would have done it years ago?

i'm glad the government are doing something more pro-active than just hiking the price of fags up.

The easy option 'if they were really that concerned' would be to ban ciggies - but they cant do without the tax income. The National Health Service would be in crisis if we all gave up.

look what happened there.

you would get cases galore filling the courts over "human rights".

if you had to try and stop people smoking but still needed cash to pay for illnesses for many years to come, wouldn't you try and ween people off slowly too?

i am sure if you explained what could happen to you if you still smoked to your children etc they would tell you to stop?

i think the smokers feel a bit hard done by atm, but its not to piss them off.

its the entire population that has to be considered.

look at the news now. "fat tax" for gods sake!!

some people are being refused treatment coz they are overweight too.

i feel really sorry for bladey

This is the 3rd time I have stopped smoking (don't ask), and it is also the easiest I have found it. Used patches (niquitin CQ) for the first 3 weeks and have not had any cravings only fancying a smoke now and again.
As regards the government and the fat tax on fatty and unhealthy food, when will they learn that you cannot tax people out of doing something, it doesn't work.

i have never really smoked, have tried it but never liked it, i hope they dont bring in fat tax as im a fat bastid :-D

and i think i already pay enough tax :lol:

My tribute to this occassion was to remove the Ciggy lighter in my car and fit a wideband Gauge there instead.

I gave up 7 years ago albeit i didnt smoke much and have to confess i'm certainly one of those hate smoking people so welcome the ban.It will be so nice to go out and not have to have a shower before going to bed and wash the clothes you were wearing although i do feel sorry for those who enjoy a smoke and dont want or cant give up. Will Power is a difficult thing to find and use
