The nutter was out there again today, desperate to get the low 5 time he couldn't get Saturday!

Unfortunately, lowsy weather made it unlikely to happen, then most of the day was lost with a broken transfer box and prop. Once that was fixed, and with 30 mins left, a warm-up run resulted in a broken wishbone bolt. :(

Got to laugh at some of the excuses being doled-out by the guys on various forums!

Like Ross' car being geared purely for 30-130, hence the poor top speed-

Top speed was poor because we focused on the 30-130 time. Ross wanted to try it, but Gary wasn't keen, especially after the door incident.

Someone saying it runs on methanol... :smilielol5:The race stuff stinks, but it's still unleaded fuel.

And several saying it's a pure drag car/ needs a rebuild every event...

It's taxed and tested (Ross even drove it all the way home from APT one night) and was only driven there in the truck for convenience and to carry a few spares. The only engine changes from last years event was the fitment of the dry sump kit and turbo spec.

Well done to Ross and Gary, a great day out. Only a few of us left at the end, waiting to see Ross and NeverNervermans last runs to see if they could beat the record. Didn't know there was any other BP guys there, apart from Gary and Ross that is. Happy with the results, apart from a knackered rad.
