Your best bet is to ask Safety James mate; they were due to start work later in the year..........they may have started early?

If it's the outside kerbing it's painted on or it was the last time I was there a few weeks ago. You'll be using all of that mate :D

they are painted on guys, work does start very shortly on the new circuit layout but Sear will be totally different
the corner was painted to highlight the circuit limitations as you are supposed to stay within the solid White lines around the track and not use the excess concrete out there, racers are penalised for crossing the lines with all 4 wheels on more than 3 occasions during a race and can be handed points on their license or a monetary fine

running wide during trackdays will get you the honour of black flag or driving standards flag for your troubles and the ridicule of losing track time to boot

I know this as I painted the bloody things!!! lol!

Cheers for that. The reason I asked is that Time Attack are considering allowing FWO at that point only. As they feel it would be too hard to police when we are out there setting lap times and not door to door racing. Personally I am in agreement with their idea and as long as all competitors agree i don't see it causing any problems.

that will be entirely down to the clerk of the course and it is very easy to police as we have cameras and 3 Marshall posts in close proximity

also it has been proven by a couple of race teams that crossing onto the concrete doesn't actually make your lap any quicker as the extra distance travelled doesn't equate to the 2-3 mph you gain on exit, there is also the issue of grip, we have of course used the FIA approved paint but it still isn't as grippy as the Tarmac itself and all the dirt and marbles arenout there too
