I had seen you were already looking at Nissans, just throwing up a few other ideas. You'll probably know better than me, but i'm pretty sure there are a few people on here with good knowledge of developing 200SX's. Seems like a decent motor, saw the OC doing a trackday session at Brands Last year & they seemed well planted, sometihng i had concidered when changing from my N/A MR2.
In the Toyota Sprint Series the difference between running RE070's & Toyo 888's on my Celica was worth 6 seconds over a 2 minute course, before the confidence built & I started getting really brave on the middle pedal!! (That's running GG compound, only a few sizes go softer) so a set of trackday tires is a MUST if you're going to stuff them!...The only crap thing it Bill's deep pocket & trailer will mean he can run the softest grippiest tyres he can get!
This car is awesome.....

From what i understand MSA lay down the "maximum" allowed & it will be 1b's or a1's, however event organisers can restrict regs further at their discretion (but risk driving potential entrants away). When the ASEMC got together a few weeks back they talked about possibly restirciting events run by ASEMC* to keep it inline with old tyre regs, BUT it would be a bold move & i doubt it will have been followed through.
*Asociation of South Eastern Motorsport Clubs, Sevenoaks will have had a representative there, i had a funeral otherwise i'd have gone too & spoken up about trackday tires in roadgoing class being bullshit, B19 will have had someone there too.
Sadly the people at the MSA seem to be so far detached from reality they don't think about the ramifications of changing regs like they have done.

As much as i want to have a go my work is so unstable i can't plan for anything, i got my licence this year and it turn out i didn't get to use it once!blacky wrote:Shouldn't be too far off on the cups!
