Just thinking about this, and although the 2.5 route in a classic is awesome, (I've been there) it can get extremely expensive..

For example, you get the engine but need rods/pistons for good 450 reliability :!:

Whilst engine is out you need a good clutch for future 450/450, so twin plate goes in-

Very good conversion, running through a 6 speed box.
Just primed and ready to be converted to a rotated....

No offence Ian, but if your not doing anything then whats the point?? Seems like wasted money to me. You could sell your Impreza and buy a much nicer newer road car? E46 M3 Newer Impreza, Evo...whatever you like really!

But each to there own and all that!

Having spent what i have, and done what ive done my advice would be to sell current car and add the money to the new car budget. Find a car that someone has already done to a high standard.
I know its not as fun as developing your whole car but you will get a much higher spec and possibly some extra goodies thrown into the mix.
Take my skyline as an example 7k car with 21k spent on it prob worth a max of 15-16k when its painted again (2k more to spend) Someone will get a bloody bargain when i sell this one.
There must be loads of scoobs in the same situation?

My 2p and prob only worth a penny LOL

Jay

Very good point, and extremely logical. I am in exactly the same boat myself with my car, having spent over

How is it you can be sensible and give good advice to others yet be totally illogical and indecisive when making your own plans? :? :D
