great write up martin looks like you had a great time. i have also suffered pad knock off when giving them some " use " on my 03sti .also recommend a ride in duncans car as i recon the ride is more compliant than my standard suspension :o

i run these tyres and found them superb in the wet but as for the dry i found them too soft on the sidewalls
i think i am going to try a set of 070's next 8)

cheers

Jason, did you ever find a cure for the pad knock off? Or does it still happen on fresh wheel bearings?

The car came with worn RE070's when I bought it and they are awesome. I changed to the goodyears when I put 18" wheels on it and immediately noticed the drop in dry performance. At the time I wasn't too fussed as I didn't plan on taking the car on track. Things have moved on since then!

Think I will be searching for some old 17 wheels and RE070's to hide in the shed before long.

As much as I would love a ride in Duncan's car I fear it would generate a very long shopping list!

Cheers,

Martin

martin - there are often people flogging sets of std wheels/tyres for very little.

I bought a set of brand new delivery mileage only STi wheels and brand new RE070s for

That is a bargain, will be keeping a look out for some at that kind of price.

I knew signing up to BP was only going to increase spending!

you should try running it, you have to lead by example and that is just a plain slippery slope

Just received some pics from Jochen at Frozenspeed. The high-res pics are very nice. I found him in the Pistenklause Saturday evening, worth finding him if you've been on track.
