Hi Guys,
Got the first Ring tripped planned for the end of July, but have heard conflicting reports of the Petrol available.
My car is a 2004 Impreza STI that has been mapped on 99RON fuel. Can I get 99 or higher near the ring, and also between the Eurotunnel and the ring?
If not any tips on octane booster would be appreciated. The car has got a sports cat on it.
Cheers,
Martin

Almost all of the petrol stations have at 98 ron although some of the shell stations in Belgium on the motorway are 97 ron Vpower. Fine for the trip over.
I normally fill in England and make it to the first Shell station over there (about 100 miles into the trip) This gets me all of the way to the ring where the station on the Dottinger Hohe has 98 ron fuel. This has been fine for my car (also mapped on 99) but I do tend to put a splash of NF for good luck.
There is a Shell station about 15kms north of the circuit selling 100 RON which is quite nice (on the way to the Rodelbahn - a must do
)
Some of the local fuel stations also carry 100 RON.
1 tank of fuel will do around 4 laps before you start to get fuel surge so i would keep it topped up regularly if you are planning a few laps by nipping along the road to the Dottinger Hohe petrol station - also a good chance to cool the car and the brakes down.
One tip I have found is do a lap then drive out of the car park, turn right and down the road to the main road for a mile or so to let the brakes, engine and you cool down before parking up.
Have a great trip - dont forget to write a report here and post lots of pics :thumb:
We have a thread going with members trip dates if you would like to add yours. There are always people there that are very friendly - I think Nige is there whilst you are - look for any Northloop.co.uk stickered car and say hi
