Time Attack R4 - Oulton park
Don't they let you tow then?dynamix wrote:You will be very lucky to rent a van with a tow bar and even luckier to rent one that will allow you to tow. 4x4 rental is the only way Dill.
This will be a fun event - up for this and with crappy weather leveling it out, it should be interesting.
Who is on track tomorrow?
Well 4x4 hire companies then with an 'out of hours' drop off scheme?

I think thats why quite a few people are talking about not entering next year, you can't keep changing the rules every five minutes.dynamix wrote:yeah, its a bit galling Dill, putting our time and effort into being club challenge competitors and just because some tuner wants to enter a car that isnt up to the regs in pro class they get allowed into club. Potentially robbing someone that has committed to the series of points. Just because they dont get points if they qualify for the final doesnt mean that those points get re-allocated.

That would be an enormous shame Kev. I am sure that the powers that be would/will do their best to ensure that any feedback or criticisim is looked at so that they can implement improvements for next years competition.
I have never taken part, as you know, but from an outsiders point of view I have been amazed at the improvements in such a short time.
Hopefully this weekend can go a long way to putting anyones concerns to bed

I really hope that they take on board suggestions for class structure changes and publicise them early enough this year to enable us to plan ahead with preparation, budgets, sponsors etc. The initial information for this year's event clearly stated 3 distinct classes but when the regs and entries were put out it reverted to two blurred classes and the start of mutterings of discontent. I believe that they have to do this for the good of the series and to help create a steady flow of new entrants into the entry levels aswell as keeping genuine club competitors like you in with a chance of good points and wins.kevin atkins wrote:I think thats why quite a few people are talking about not entering next year, you can't keep changing the rules every five minutes.dynamix wrote:yeah, its a bit galling Dill, putting our time and effort into being club challenge competitors and just because some tuner wants to enter a car that isnt up to the regs in pro class they get allowed into club. But if they're are supposed to be in pro, be it because of the driver, (and if you don't own the car you're driving then surely you should be in pro anyway, as its against the ethos of club class), or because its a tuner/dealer entry then thats the class they're supposed to be in. If they can't meet the regs thats their problem. If I can't get a race suit, or harness or regulation seat does that mean I can still enter club class? No, we have to abide by the rules - so should they. This isn't a dig at any individuals, people will get away with what they can.gary@apt wrote:pmsl dunc not up to pro regs its a bloody standard car!!!!!
