We got our heaters direct from benson http://www.bensonheating.com/ . We fitted them ourselves and never had a problem with them really good heaters. Give them a try you shouldn't need a very big unit for your workshop.

Gary you need a ambi rad system if you want a gas operated job
. You have an area with a high volume of air. so heating it is expensive.

You could opt for IR electrical heating for common used areas. this method involves heting people and not air.
