Anyone live near me?

Post by Matt Allcock »

Had a little look around and couldn't find a thread with a member map of sorts - there probably is one but I couldn't find it

I live in Crewe, Cheshire

It would seem that most people on here are from and around Norfolk, am I right?

The site is regional so far but we have guys in Scotland, the North, Midlands and the dirty South too. So we're not fussy :D

Joking aside we may well be appointing regioanl reps in the very near future with a view to spreading the word to the right sort of people. This should help no end. Also, our own events will be far more widely spread next year taking in trackdays at Knockhill, Anglessey, Croft, Thruxton and Brands to name but a few.

Ooohh. Knockhill! I know we have members in sheffield and cardiff and of course nurburg. Its kind of weird to think of bp becoming a "national" club and needing regional reps lol. Onwards and upwards hey! ;)

Bring on brands that hill is nearly vertical!!

That some commitment coming down to Marham from Crewe, Cheshire

Was going to stick up some sarky comment about most members been from Norfolk but there just over the boarder for me its only about 5miles and i cant see anything wrong with them interbredding!! Although some of us are a bit higher class being from cambridgeshire

Higher class? Cambridgeshire? There's two things you don't hear together very often.

Back to the thread topic, I always thought that BP would be regional in year one, growing into a national club within the second year. We'll always be event driven so it makes sense to spread our wings a bit.

Well not exactly - that would have been the easy option, trust me.

I'm a full time DJ and I work in Blackpool on Saturday nights until 3am. Can you see where this is going?

Also bear in mind that I work thursday nights and fridays too, both until 2am.

Saturday 1st sept,

- Woke up at about 1pm ish after arricing at home at about 3:30am the previous night.
- Got to the workdshop, loaded all the tools and wheels/tyres into the car.
- Got back home at about 4pm, had dinner
- Left at 6pm for work, started work at 8pm in blackpool. 75 miles travelled.
- Finished work at 3am, got straight into the car. Red Bull count - about 8 cans so far.
- Travelled to my mate's house to pick up some more wheels that I had left there previously. He lives in Derby.
- Left his house at about 5:30. 195 miles travelled so far. Red Bull count - 10 cans.
- Another 100 miles to Norfolk, arrived at Marham at about 7:45am. Red Bull count - about 14 cans in total.
- (bear in mind I've had no sleep so far) Drove 3 sessions mostly sideways with a big grin on my face. Blew the car up.
- Helped other people for the rest of the day, packed up my stuff
- Left marham at 5:30, limped to a nearby pub and phoned the RAC.
- 2.5 hours later :o , a patrol car came out and told me exactly what I already knew - "it's knackered mate." Thanks. He organised a recovery truck.
- An hour later, a phone call came and I was told it would be another half an hour.
- Recovery truck came and took me to Notts. Driver said "You've been to RAF Marham haven't you? I'm not bothered, I was going to go myself but I didn't get the car ready in time! I've just recovered another car who was there and he blew it up...." Small world.....
- Swapped to another recovery truck in Nottingham and arrived at home at 1am sunday night.

That's dedication for you.
