Automated Ring Webcam Downloads

Post by duncan »

Just so that everyone is covered that is going to the ring in the next mont I have set up an automated download of the ring webcam shots every minute.

This can be viewed at:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

(removed cos someone did it better than me @ http://www.8200rpm.com/webcam)

Obviously there will be a lot of images there and a lot that have nothing on them but just move your mouse over the image name and a thumbnail will apear - this way everyone will be caught without the need for friends and relatives to be standing hitting the F5 key :D

How sad am I ? :D

This is excellent Dunc !!
(if ever so slightly geeky!)

Managed to find 2 pics of myself over the weekend......and also 6 of when we mislaid our ticket on the start line. (we were looking for it for about 5 mins till I realised i'd lodged it above the rear view mirror  )

It's because there are a lot of files that the PHP is having to build a list of.

I have seen someone that has done this better actually I am ashamed to say....

http://www.8200rpm.com/webcam - complete with little images for browsing on the same screen and by hour.... mucho respect to them. I am a minor geek compared to them.

I could have done that though if I didnt have a life  ;)
