IMPORTANT: FAO Customers of SJS Design

Hi it's Caroline Si's other half here.

I felt i should write a post to those who have ordered with us recently with regards to the delays with our mail order.

As some may know i took over the mail order side of SJS last year as most of Simon's time is now taken up with design and with the larger car projects. At the time of him handing over the reigns to me, i was not working and so was able to devote all of my time to the mail order. However, i now also have another job which initially was part time but i am now doing more and more hours at work with a view to going full time in the not too distant future.

This has also coincided with the mail order becoming busier than it ever has been since we started out 4 years ago and so, i have been having to do it in my spare time - sometimes working late into the night, and despite doing this, delivery times have become increasingly longer, i have made some mistakes as i am so stressed and i physically do not have anymore hours in the day to fulfil all orders within the time they should be.

I would like to apologise sincerely to those who may feel let down by our service and i can only say sorry and that it is clear that some drastic action needs to be taken to solve this problem. I also felt i should write this as some of the complaints and enquires about the delays and service have been aimed in Simon's direction when it is not his fault, it is mine, as the mail order is my responsibility and he trusts me to manage it correctly which is not happenning at present.

We are now taking steps to solve this problem and we have another member of staff who will be starting with us in the next week or so. In the meantime we would appreciate it if customers would bear with us while we try to clear the backlog of existing orders and if there is anyone who has placed an order and needs it by a particular date, please let us know and we will do our best to see that you have it in time.

I will bump/add to this thread as things develop to make sure it is visible to everyone and to keep people in the loop with what is happenning.

We would like to thank people for their patience and continued support and custom to SJS.

Thank you for taking the time to write an explanation. Many of us run our own businesses and find the balance between keeping people happy and working efficiently is difficult. The quality of communication with your customers is of paramount importance.

Cheers Stu, we always will be upfront about things. Got the new lad starting on Friday which should start to see things improve once his settled in Caroline will be pleased!

First batch of strips just left the building, rest following this week :)
