So, photos
Really grotty alloys with years of baked on muck. Here they are being treated to a deep clean

With the brake dust removed it was time to tackle the tar and old wheel weights

The finished result. This process was repeated on the external face and once cleaned they were dried and sealed with high temperature sealant for future ease of maintenance

The alloys took about two hours in all and presented one of the hardest sets yet to get to a good standard.
The exhaust silencer was removed for cleaning and enhanced access to the shell. The silencer was filthy and in dire need of some deep cleaning and protection

So, here we are after two stage hand polishing and protection

The underside was in reasonable condition for the age and in better nick than most UK ones I bet. There was surface corrosion obviously but easily tackled on the say

The plastic arch liners and fuel cover were removed, as was the sill covers and exhaust (see earlier pic). Once the bits were off it was all thoroughly cleaned and degreased, steam cleaned where necessary (proper steam not a hot water pressure washer) and then wire brushed down on all surfaces to provide a good key for painting.

All sensitive areas were masked up with Euromask and 3M 3434 tape. Then it was onto painting with 4 layers of 3M protection into all the nooks and crannies

Everything was inspected and checked, and then demasked prior to callipers being sealed for protection

So, the car was rebooted and taken outside for cleaning, decontaminating, light polishing and protection work. This shows the amount of iron on Ben's car after just 5 days back on the road!! The alloys and tyres were masked up to protect during the wash process

The rest of the exterior was pretty clean so here's a random interior shot 50/50 for a change. Subaru's suffer with bobbly alcantara seats so
Before

After de-fuzzing

Finished alloy and tyre shot

Finished interior shot

Clean flaps and boot surround

Underbonnet made beautiful again (this was not resprayed when the rest of the car was done)

Finished. After 16 hours this was the final result

If you're interested in me completing similar work on your car please get in touch. The results can be pretty impressive and I think Ben and Gareth will agree that it's great value for money (not cheap but worth doing if you really value your car)
Comments and queries welcomed.
I should add a big thanks to Gary, Danny, Chris and Steve at APT. Without Gary's support in using his facilities and the lads help, I would not be able to complete work of this type
