Morning All :)

I thought I would take the opportunity to share this on here; partly because this mornings job cancelled at 8pm last night and partly because it's a nice example of a 'real world' car (as opposed to mega power Evo's and 50's Americana which is a lot of my work load right now).

Anyway, the owner called me to book it in as I look after his other cars. He's just bought it and collected it in the rain, so didn't really know what he'd bought in terms of finish but the price, spec and history made it worth the gamble.

So the car was booked in, the two hour drive completed and time to get stuck in for a full exterior, interior and engine bay valet. The photo's don't tell the whole story as the car was 99% complete on the outside when a farmer decided to coat the entire area with fine dust, including all of the cars that were outside! It was so thick it obscured visibility on the roads so you can imagine what that did to the job's momentum!

Please bear in mind that the photos are a bit incomplete and the car was washed by hand a few days before I got there
Engine bay was cleaned first but I forgot the photos!! Then the alloys were up next.

An alloy 'before' showing brake dust on the front face that was still in place after the owner cleaned it

Loads of brake dust on the rear of the wheel

Once more, plenty of brake dust and tar that needed to come off

A clean alloy but still to be sealed to make future cleaning easier

So with the tyres, arches and alloys done the whole car was rinsed to knock off any loose dust, dirt and oddities before I moved on to the two bucket wash. Once cleaned it was really obvious it had been well maintained but badly needed claying to get rid of lots of tree sap. No pics of these stages but the whole car was clayed, rinsed and then I was ready for various stages of polishing

At this stage I was joined by a massive Dragonfly who seemed attracted to the water (you can see it here by the lights)
Image
With the wildlife leaving me alone, I cracked on with removing light scratches, scuffs and some of the swirls from the hard-as-nails Audi top coat, and after a couple of hours was left with this

Tyres were dressed and alloys were sealed

Le Mans Quattro=233bhp and 450nm @ 1400rpm!!

On to the interior for the usual door shut clean, carpet and mat deep clean, leather clean and conditon etc etc etc but not before taking a photo of my helpers, both flat out!

Where was I?................

So, with the interior done, it was just time to rinse the car AGAIN to get rid of the dust storm, dry it and go around it with the wonderful FK quick detailer before handing the keys back

A long but very enjoyable day for me and the team, and the Audi will now be protected for several months as it does what Audi's do best

Thanks for reading this summary. I have been extremely busy of late and there is no sign of let up for the next few weeks, so if you're thinking of booking me for valeting, undersealing or detailing work PLEASE do not delay! :D

Lots of interesting things coming including a nice R35 GTR, a mental Porsche and a plain bonkers Escort Cosworth amongst many others.
