Pink van goes red......

Post by Stuart »

A full interior and exterior valet for this Nissan Primastar van. It's in great nick overall apart from the stone chips, tar, burnt on bugs and faded paint!!!

The mission was to correct the colour, remove all contaminants and scratches and get some decent protection on there

A 50/50 showing the corrected paint and the old, faded rouge!

All door shuts, tailgate shuts and fuel flap shuts were degreased and protected

All internal painted surfaces were cleaned and protected

All exterior plastics were treated, the arches and tyres were also treated as well as the glass, headlights, scuttle panels etc etc

The interior was cleaned including all switch gear, seats, rubber mats, vents and door cards. Hard work in hot weather and direct sunlight but it came out well by hand and should last well into winter with the protection that's on there now :D

Superb, it's always amazed me how a faded red car can come back all shiny.

It's only down to the paint oxidising. Most paints have a clear coat of clear paint/lacquer on so they aren't affected by discolouration to the same extent, but some manufacturers choose to paint red with no added clearcoat, hence the fade

It was/is actually much more tomato coloured than the pictures show......think my phone maxed out on the ISO it could pick up!!

Thanks :D

This was only 18 months old, so you're right. The reason a van is on BP, young Jedi, is that many of the guys on here have commercial vehicles ;)

Simples :D

Could say the same about my truck G ;)

You've preserved the paint, made the owner happy and no doubt increased its value a bit. Nice work.
