Long story short I was up against the weather and an increasingly sore back, so I should have known that I was going to have my work cut out!

The Audi needed a good detox after Winter grime, tar, bird poop and everything else had got the better of it so the normal wash routine was followed
Pre-wash with degreaser, rinse, shampoo, detail clean of badges and shuts, rinse, deep clean wheels, de-tar, rinse and dry. In response to customers asking for it, I've bought a wheel cleaner that changes colour when it reacts to iron contamination (eg brake dust) so here's a few shots of that in action

It's really effective but stinks and costs a bomb compared to the normal stuff so we shall see whether it earns its place in my box of tricks! The weather was already starting to get much worse at this point so I checked and double checked the car was clean with another rinse, de-tar on bumpers and lower sills and then rinsed again.

I also cleaned and protected the engine bay, boot and door shuts, fuel flap and had to leave it that. Very disappointing but I'll return again when we have some dry weather. In a bid to make the best possible use of the time I switched over to the owner's other car, a lovely S15.

I had previously valeted this in November and it was still in very good order so it just required a maintenance wash with some attention required on the window trims, badges and windscreen surround

It was still raining at this point and the owner and I had previously agreed that if the weather caved in, I would just charge him for the time taken and call it quits. With this in mind I wrapped up both jobs so that both cars can be used, cleared up and disappeared for early lunch with a view to come back an hour later if the weather cheered up. That never happened!!

To add insult to injury, as I was loading the car I felt my back twinge. On the 30 mile drive home the twinge became a throb, and now I feel like I've been hit by a truck Oh well........could always be worse!

Revisited this afternoon to finish these two off, so first up was the A4 as that had done a few miles since Tuesday so it was inspected, rinsed, shampoo'd, de-tarred again, rinsed and dried. With the Audi clean it was time to polish and seal in the protection.



Tyres, alloys and arches were cleaned and protected to ensure a lasting finish

I also got stuck into the interior so the mats, carpets and seats were shampoo'd and hoovered. In addition to that all interior plastics and rubbers were cleaned and treated, and the glass was cleaned and treated inside and out.

On to the S15. This one hadn't moved an inch since Tuesday so it was a little bit quicker to clean than the Audi. I used the same broad product types as the Audi with the exception of the alloys. These were sealed using Alloy Armour as the wheels are worth a bomb and pretty freshly refurbished.




Chuffed that I got back to protect these asap

If I'd known your back was playing up I wouldn't have asked you to clean that mould of the S15 back seats
