Just watching the Masters Race as the Warm Up, monsters in the wet.

Looks like a wet start to the race should be exiting. Audi even money but Toyota could be a surprise.

2 Hours to kick off (2pm) Eurosport (Sky 410) and Eurosport HD (Sky 412)

Just remember these are the same people that have given us the juke!:puke: Someone please buy them some new glasses!

Bloody great race though. We watched more of this years race in our house than any year before. I can`t say i was too disappointed with an Audi 1-2-3!:thumbs:
The Toyota/ferrari crash was an eye opener:eek: at a time when the racing was already getting exciting with Toyota and Audi swapping places for the lead.

But they are also the same company that gave us the Juke GTR - and any mainstream manufacturer that will build something as daft as that (instead of leaving it as a one off demo/marketing tool) must be applauded.

And ironically, the engine in the deltawing is based on the 1.6 in the Juke!!!

The deltawing itself is not actually their project, they just threw their weight behind someone elses baby, which again, in the current climate can only be a good thing.

Just cos i have a GTR I'm not pro Nissan by any stretch, hate most of their range - although personally I HATE the Audi 1.2.3 at Le Mans. I think the constant pedalling of Diseasal as a "green" fuel has no place in a race car and that the vast resources to be so dominant could have been far better spent actually moving things on - which is what the delta wing is designed to do.

Seriously, a 1.6 engine, with 300bhp engine able to lap competitively due to light weight etc? That seems a lot more advanced than a diesel to me. And it gets more interesting too, in one of the interviews on Eurosport one of the commentators (a driver but can't remember who) was saying that the "3" wheel design enables you to apex tighter without the risk of the inside front being launched into the air and punting the car offline - something I hadn't thought of.

I reckon it looks pretty far out, and admittedly did shit (although only as it was punted into the wall did it go out) but I honestly think its one of the most forward thinking race cars of modern times. Love it.

Be interesting to see if it tips over tho :smilielol5:

Got to agree with monster the ACO is going the wrong way allowing diesel in p2 next year, they should be getting shot of it in p1. Go Toyota! Petrol hybrid not far off the Audis. And Nissan should be praised too, a lot of motorsport support.

I agree with you 100% mate, though I have this strange feeling that the Delta Wing concept may set a new trend that could even lead to a radical new race series......but I'm sure I've seen it somewhere before.....

ah yes, that was it

:smash::iagree::biggrinjester::smilielol5:

I watched some of this years, mainly linked videos to crashes if I'm honest, and loved the Toyota's and Nissan Delta-Wing thing. Anyone that dominates the shit out of a series like this is an easy target for flack I guess, but I love to see progression and development, and for that the two teams above deserve big kudos.

Did that Lola thing enter? (The one with the full KERS system) Not even sure if they built the fucker to be honest............I must start concentrating more :D
