RossSport Evo VI- First UK Evo into the 8's!

Perfect conditions at Santa Pod today for Ross to have a final shot at showing the full potential of his car, and he wasted no time in breaking records- first casual run to warm the transmission, no launch or NOS, gave a 10-second quarter.

Image

With that completed it was onto the first 'proper' run of the day, Gary and I up in the grandstand, Luke recording from the strip itself, no camera in the car (well, didn't think he'd do it on the first bloody go!)-

8.75 @ 163mph! :D

Great to catch up with Matt Woods on the day, plus the other photographer there managed to get some slow-mo footage of Ross' launch, flames an' all, so I'll add it when we get it. :coolgleamA:

Yes Pablo; you missed that he got it painted ;)

Great work lads and great to see the car get the numbers that make it Europe's quickest Evo in this discipline

LOL- Ross isn't known for his punctuality!

Still beat the Mini to the end though. :D

Yep, look hard enough and you'll still see the original paint in certain areas.

Cheers guys, it certainly made our day to do it on the first run, and confirm the recent tweaks (to cure the rpm trigger issue we found at 30-130) worked perfectly. Beating Si Norris to the first 8 sec 1/4 was the silver lining, though he took it well- especially as Ross' was still running a semi-'Sprint' suspension set-up, so not maximising the grip available.

That's it for pushing the boundaries now- "Silvia" is returning to full Sprint spec from now on. :)

There's a couple of threads on there, Stu. No other times were put up though, but Norris managed a PB of 9.1 when he showed at lunchtime.
