In a recent topgear mag they done road tests on both cars. The difference was subaru basically said heres the keys, heres our test track, Fill your boots! where toyotas test drive was a lot more restrained. They have both said they wont be fitting turbos to their cars.:(

I think we will see more collaborations like this though the Toyota write up press statements were a bit testy.

What is surprising particularly from Subaru is the lack of turbo power but perhaps they are in for the long game as track oriented machines and not rally bred road cars as with the Impreza. No doubt there will be a plethora of after market tuners queuing up to add their wares in the aftermarket sector.

Great looking car with either badge though

Being lazy and not being arsed to go and re-read the topgear article, I belive tha toybaru say they cant fit a turbo as the re-working to fit one would be massively expensive?
I`m sure the tuners will soon have it sussed though........................Along with 4wd...
Added just to upset the purists.:D

I was just trawling through some photos from Goodwood Festival of Speed 2010 and found these pics of the Toyota FT 86 Concept as they called it then.......it is a damn pretty little car...

I wonder if re-configuring the turbo/supercharger layout would be more cost effective all wheel drive as an option though
