Snetterton 300 - Mike Rainbird's Escort Cosworth

Post by turbomart »

Dunno if these have been posted before but this is the last of about 4 vids (I think) .. the tussle with the GT-R and the Porsche towards the end is quite exciting, but more importantly the vids are of very good quality and great for learning our home track

Nice vid mate, not sure Mike dusted the GTR, the GTR RS or the Atom though as they didn't really look like they were going for it and the Atom was all over the track. However....

Good lines though through the circuit on that vid and the car sounds nice. What's the spec ? Escort cossies are pretty rare on the roads these days.

Agree. The lap times were slow throughout.

I didn't post the vid for it's bragging rights....It's obviously a very slow car from looking at his other videos

Don't know what I was thinking of... must of been bored or something.

Good quality video and great acoustics :D Looking forwards to getting back on there  I just showed a biker mate the track as he hasn't been on there yet. His reaction to Sears and Coram was interesting

Mike's car is fairly well known in Ford circles, and his build thread is on Passionford (be aware it starts in 2008, so it's a lengthy read!)-

He took part in the recent Snetterton Charity Day, though it's a shame he wasn't in the same class as Gary and Logan... would've been an interesting comparison. ;)

I know it's fairly high power, and recently had the sequential box in, but I'm not sure of the exact spec or how much has changed from the list on the first post.

Just skimming through it now. :)

The spec and build of that car are very impressive, also you must remember it's not a light weight stripped out track car, it's a fully trimmed road car. I know at the charity event he was hitting 150mph on the back straight.
