Sobering pictures Mike, shows the value of a fully caged car, perhaps that is the next should have.

there was no bracing across the car in the main hoop by the looks of it only braced diagonal from drivers head to floor for roll protection.

That being the case, together with the lack of protective clothing (gloves) surely this brings into question the rules/regs and safety standards for this particular race series, it is to be hoped that the resulting consequence and exposure on forums that the incident will cause an overall revue for 2012.

The saftey regs are outlined by the MSA and are the same for same for all championships in the UK.

Cars involved in incidents are evaluated by the MSA technical staff present at the meeting (if deemed necessary). Findings are reported back to the MSA who amend any regulations, (initally outlined at the begining of the season in the blue book) and issue an update bulletin with imediate effect.

Incidentally the MSA has stated FIA standard fire-proof gloves will be made mandatory in 2012. It is my understanding that the descion was not made in relation to this incident but as a result of the constant revision of saftey standards.

Those pictures are truely shocking its unbelievable the driver of the black car got out without injury although the driver of the white one was lucky not to have had a broken nose !!! after the other driver punched him for making a stupid error and risking both their lives...
