Ben think of the heat they make when braking hard.

Major dramas today, tried to start them today like i said i would by leaving them on the car and they were having none of it, the paint did not seem to want to stick to the caliper in the cold so i have had to bite the bullet and strip them from car.

Have left the pedal half way down and have wrapped the ends in cling film and cable ties so hopefully wont lose too much fluid!

I am thinking of getting all the seals and giving them a full overhual while i have them stripped off the car.

Believe me mate you really dont want to see any pictures of my skyline sat on blocks of wood with its brake lines weeping fluid out!!
:(

You dont fancy doing my calipers do you???

Im having trouble getting the paint to key onto the calipers, it seems to not want to stick at all.

What have you cleaned them with Ian, there must be some contaminants on the surface for the paint tio not adhere properly?

I think i may have messed up a bit mate and sanded through the primer as on closer inspection it is not sticking where there is a bit of bare alloy, ooops!! Will have to heat it up and key it in a bit. I dont know of any primer which can stick the high heat.
I hate fiddly little jobs like this, much prefer proper mechanical jobs!

I think you may need to get a high temp etch primer mate.

Best off speaking to a bodyshop to ask for their advise?
