Mitsi followed fashion putting a 6speed in, but did it on the cheap. For the Evo10 they went back to the 5speed and all the journos slated the decision when they road tested them. Glad you like the de-winged look Stuart, frankly rear visibility for me was zero and i couldn't see it adding any meanin...

The 6 speed box had a brilliant party piece - when you changed down from 6th, a heavy spring in the gear change always tried to push the lever left, into 3rd! Not good at high speeds... also, as mentioned the 5speed is a lot stronger, although doddery old me managed to make my 6 speed last 97000 mil...

Thanks H-tech Styling
I've just had some major body repairs, spray work and a couple of cosmetic changes ;) done to the car. This is the 3rd time i've used Chris and his team over the last few years (after a recommendation on here from Ben) and i have always been pleased with his work. Would recommend them to anyone need...

Just got the Vectra 4x4 back from APT after having a 5 speed box, RS diff, Ohlins R & T, MOT and some other bits and pieces done. 5speed box is a revelation, no springiness like the 6speed had, and really short throw too. Totally transforms the drive, would recommend this mod to anyone with a 6speed...

Dunlop sport Maxx TT's have stiff sidewalls too - kevlar reinforced i believe. Thats' he difference between the TT's and the normal ones. I run them on my lard arse and were not too bad on last track day i did. Outer edges (especially front left) were worn by the end of the day of course. I ran T1R'...

Sorry about the thread hijack by the way... Ben, really like your GTI. A friend tuned the nuts of his Mk4 TDI a few years ago, always liked driving it but understand why you want to keep yours fairly standard. I too ditched the coilies and went back to lowered springs on the Evo. Hardcore cars are n...

Hi Stuart, not a complete stranger, i regularly login. Just don't usually have anything interesting to add although i'm loving the build threads on here. Beauty of driving on Spain and France's uncongested motorways is no traffic jams which kill the economy. I think the decat has improved things plu...

Stanced motors, what do you think?
I haven't posted on here for a while naughty me, so firstly hello everyone! I 've noticed in Japanese performance and Banzai mags and on stancenation and stanceworks sites that 'stance' is on the rise (on european cars too of course) and wondered what you all think of the look? Personally i've alway...
