Peterborough Motor Club is running one at Rockingham on 21st April but I am sprinting at North Weald that day. Let me know if you want the regs.
I assume that there would be a class for classic cars and the like but i can't do anything till at least June as i have still got a bit of work to do . July is a more realistic time for me and the event looks like a fairly open sort of thing . Iam just going to have to finish the car and go and do something and see what i can use the car for . Here is an application form in pdf format.
If your car is road legal then it is perfectly suitable for AutoSolo. The modifications will determine what class it would have to go into for sprinting.
I have taken on board what you have said about the MSA Blue Book and I will write a section for the new HCC website on getting started in each form of motorsport.

Yes car needs to be road legal, i thought the golf was.
Autosolos can be triple drive entries, it makes it more exciting than sprinting as you can compare times like for like. 3 drivers of the same car, its clearly evident who is quickest ;-)

It is to much hassle and unwanted expense to have on the road
If have to bring the impreza and pray for rain
Or could bring the focus to see how it goes in full factory trim
